Military relocation - South-shore of Montreal (Farnham, St-Hubert or St-Jean-sur-Richelieu)

As a member of Brookfield Global Relocation Services, I am well aware of the your tight schedule and the limited time at your disposal to find your new home and become familiar with your new environment. For this reason, during your house hunting trip (HHT), you and your family will be my #1 priority.

As time is the essence, I invite you to contact me as soon as possible so that we may begin the search. To optimize the time we have together, the list below will provide you with useful information to help us both in finding your new home.

  • Please provide me with your search criteria (budget, type of home, number of bedrooms, preferred city/sector/neighbourhood, distance from work, schools, etc.)
  • I will provide you with the properties that best suit your needs according to your search criteria (as a real estate broker I have access to all properties under contract with any and all real estate agencies)
  • You can also find and select the properties that you would like to visit from either or Let me know which ones you would like to add by providing me with the Centris # and/or SIA#. Ideally, we should try to visit between 10 – 12 homes.
  • I can refer you to other Brookfield professionals who will be able to provide you with various services you will need during this process. (mortgage brokers, notaries, home inspectors, etc.)
  • In order to save time, it would be very useful if the mortgage process were already started. (I can provide you with the names of various qualified mortgage brokers that you can contact ahead of time ).
  • Once your offer to purchase is accepted, it will be important to set-up the appointment for the home inspection, contact and provide the required documents to the mortgage broker and select a notary. No worries, I am here to take care of this with you in order to finalize everything (except for signing the deed of sale) during your HHT.
  • It is important that you bring all of the necessary documents with you for the purchase and financing of your new home. (2 ID cards with photo, your posting letter, proof of revenue, etc.)
  • For school registration, please bring your child’s or children’s last report card and birth certificate.
  • In Québec, please keep in mind that most homes are sold without the major appliances (refrigerator, stove/range, washer, dryer). If you are moving yours or plan on buying new appliances, it would be a good idea to take the necessary measurements when visiting.
  • I can provide you with the names of hotels and/or motels in the area approved by Brookfield for your stay.

Donna went above and beyond the call of duty!

“Donna went above and beyond the call of duty!  Although we have been through the relocation process with the military before, never had we been presented with so many viable options during our house hunting trip.  All of the homes she showed us were great! But not only that,  she ensured our family was well acquainted with the neighborhood, schools, and shopping once we had purchased the perfect home.   Being a long time resident of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu and the South Shore,  she was able to give us great advice.  Her ability to communicate perfectly in both French and English was also a great asset, particularly during negotiations and communications with notaries and utilities.  There is no doubt that when we are posted in the future, we’ll look to Donna to sell! Merci beaucoup Donna!” – Judson B. and Melissa B.
